Felix Young reports findings of a ground-breaking study into Business and HR. Deloitte’s 2017 Global Human Capital Trends survey found that 88% of 10,447 business and HR leaders are confident that business success will be linked to the ability to build an organisation of the future. Business leaders need to consider how their future workforces will find motivation and develop systems and structures dependent on these trends. With 83% of survey respondents ranking ‘careers and learning’ as a high priority when sourcing working opportunities, it’s time for businesses to act, states Felix Young.

A concerning statistic from the study found that “as capabilities fall behind, companies’ ability to keep up with employees’ demands for learning and career growth has dropped by 5%.” With careers now spanning up to 70 years on average, it is critical that businesses find solutions and consider corporate learning options as part of their business models, to ensure they can attract and maintain a stable workforce. Deloitte reports that 56% of companies are reforming their HR programmes to incorporate digital and mobile tools, and 33% have included an element of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their HR solutions. Felix Young is concerned any businesses not taking immediate action are at risk of falling behind future advancements and will lose their top talent to more forward-thinking firms.
